Look for Democrats in Congress today to dig deeper into the firings of eight federal prosecutors.

The House Judiciary Committee will consider whether to subpoena Monica Goodling, a former aide to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, or grant her immunity from prosecution.

Goodling has refused to testify about the firings of the U-S attorneys, citing her Fifth Amendment right against self incrimination.

The Senate Judiciary Committee will be considering whether to subpoena Sara Taylor, a deputy to presidential adviser Karl Rove.

Beyond the prosecutors controversy, Democrats also will consider subpoenas for Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and former White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card over President Bush's justifications for going to war in Iraq.

Republicans accuse Democrats of a political fishing expedition.
