In the northwest of this Midwestern state is a top-rated spot for couples in search of seclusion and romance — Canoe Bay, a 280-acre country estate with three spring-fed lakes. The rooms and cottages here, claims Travel + Leisure, “have all the necessities to thaw out chilly spots in a relationship: fireplaces, down comforters, and whirlpool tubs, plus lake-view decks (in case things get a little too hot).” The food is superb as is the wine list and the massages offered on the premises. Rates start at $325/night.
Kinnaird Estate, Scotland
If you’d like a little royal treatment, we suggest a sojourn at Kinnaird Estate in Scotland.
