Why it's a deal: In a recent Kayak search, we found a $179 round-trip fare in mid-January (Delta). A three-night stay at the Park City Marriott will cost about $680, or $340 per person. Booking independently, you could expect to pay about $519 per person. With this package, you can expect to save about $133.

Lodging The lowest package rate is for the Park City Marriott, a 198-room hotel in the Wasatch Mountains, with a pool and a hot tub. The closest ski resort is the Park City Mountain Resort, about a mile away. Bored with skiing? There's a complimentary shuttle to Utah Olympic Park, the Tanger Outlets at Park City, or Old Town. One neat highlight: The hotel is the headquarters of the Sundance Film Festival.

More There are two upgrade options: For $54 more per person, you can stay at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center; for $60 more per person, the Homestead Resort will be your base. Note that when we tried booking this package on several different dates, the prices varied a great deal; sometimes the Hilton or the Homestead would even be cheaper than the Marriott.

Before you go: The closest airport is in Salt Lake City, 36 miles from the Marriott. A bus will cost about $35 each way; a taxi $67. One alternative is to rent a car; we found a $69 Chevy Aveo three-day rental in mid-January (Advantage).
