Two young women have appeared in a Minnesota court to face charges of assault and other counts alleging they abused 15 nursing home residents.

Brianna Marie Broitzman and Ashton Michelle Larson did not enter pleas Wednesday in their initial court appearance in Albert Lea, Minn. Both are 19.

The women were working at a Good Samaritan Society nursing home when the alleged abuse occurred over several months in early 2008.

Prosecutors say they physically, emotionally and sexually abused 15 residents who suffered from Alzheimer's disease, dementia or both.

The judge at Wednesday's hearing set bail at $6,000 each for unconditional release and $2,000 each for bail with restrictions. Both women said they were planning to post bail.
