Harsco Completes $250 Million Bond Refinancing

HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 20, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Worldwide industrial services and engineered products company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today it has successfully completed a bond offering of 2.700 percent, 5-year senior notes totaling $250 million. The notes were rated A- by Standard & Poor's and Fitch Ratings and Baa1 by Moody's Investors Service. Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and RBS Securities Inc. acted as joint book-running managers, and ING Financial Markets LLC, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (USA), Inc., Mizuho Securities USA Inc. and Wells Fargo Securities, LLC acted as co-managers.

The notes were rated A- by Standard & Poor's and Fitch Ratings and Baa1 by Moody's Investors Service. Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and RBS Securities Inc. acted as joint book-running managers, and ING Financial Markets LLC, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (USA), Inc., Mizuho Securities USA Inc. and Wells Fargo Securities, LLC acted as co-managers.

"This successful and over-subscribed transaction capitalizes on the current interest rate environment for investment-grade corporate notes to reduce our annual interest expense by approximately $12 million," said Harsco Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Stephen J. The proceeds from the offering will be used primarily to repay in part a 7.25 percent, British pound sterling-denominated note totaling £200 million (approximately $310 million) coming due on October 27, 2010, as well as certain amounts outstanding under Harsco's U.S. and European commercial paper programs.
