DUNEDIN, Fla., Oct. 13, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ALAS Defense Systems, Inc. (Pink Sheets:VDSC), today announced that Quality Performance, Inc. has been awarded a $491,434 contract with General Dynamics Bath Iron Works Corporation for the supply of 10.4" and 15" Multi-Functional Color Displays. The Displays will be installed on the Bridge Wings, Pilot House, and CIC of all new and upgraded US Navy Aegis Destroyers (DDGs). The multi-functional color liquid crystal displays will provide the ship with navigational and meteorological information needed for underway steaming, docking & maneuvering, and underway replenishment operations. Each DDG has 2-off 10.4" displays and 4-off 15" displays. The entire DDG-51 Class is being fitted with these quality solid-state displays.

QPI's subcontract-manufacturer is Aeronautical & General Instruments Ltd (AGI), located in England. QPI is AGI's exclusive Distributor and Depot-level repair facility in the USA and performs all of the program, contract, configuration, logistics, and repair in their Fredericksburg, VA facility.
