ITHACA, N.Y., Dec. 2, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The CBORD Group, Inc., the leading provider of food and nutrition software solutions to healthcare facilities, announced today its partnership with LodgeNet® Healthcare, which will bring together LodgeNet Healthcare's interactive TV solution with CBORD's Room Service technology.

The partnership provides a framework for both CBORD® and LodgeNet to invest in the development of an interface between the LodgeNet interactive TV system and CBORD Room Service. This connection will enable hospitals that utilize both CBORD Room Service and the LodgeNet solution to offer patients another flexible way to order room service meals.

"CBORD is very pleased to provide our clients diet-compliant Room Service with meal ordering options now through in-room TV. This new mode of interactivity improves the hospital-patient experience in a meaningful way. Both CBORD and LodgeNet are industry leaders; this partnership will add value to hospitals across the country," said Mike Melander, CBORD's Director of Sales-Healthcare Foodservice Systems. "Connecting LodgeNet's patient-friendly interactive TV with CBORD's Room Service technology means the hospital can respond to patient needs more effectively and efficiently. Most importantly though, it ensures patients are only served meals that are uniquely safe for them—which is what sets this solution apart from all the rest."

The partnership falls within the CBORD Xchange Program, a best-of-breed network of leading technology partners. The Xchange Program also provides a defined set of marketing and sales opportunities with the CBORD user base.

CBORD invests heavily in building and maintaining its Xchange Program technology and partner relationships in order to offer its clients a maximum return on their investments from CBORD and other solutions in use.

"We are excited to work with CBORD and our mutual customers to provide a better patient experience. This partnership has the potential to dramatically improve patient satisfaction, as well as provide the hospital with operational efficiencies which can easily translate into saved dollars," said LodgeNet Healthcare General Manager Gary Kolbeck.
