JUPITER, Fla., Dec. 13, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GelTech Solutions Inc. (OTCBB:GLTC), creators of FireIce, a revolutionary water enhancing fire suppressant that has the potential to change current firefighting techniques globally, announced today that it has received its first order for its new Soil2O product from a major Southern California company that struggles to control dust.
GelTech's patent pending Soil2O product will be used at one of the largest rock quarries in the State of California for multiple uses directed at reducing dust and drastically reducing the amount of water the customer must truck to the quarry. There are over 200 rock quarries in the State of California alone, all of which are currently emitting large amounts of dust into the atmosphere on a daily basis. In response, the quarries are regulating dust emissions by spraying water and chemicals on a daily basis in order to comply with the California Air Quality Management Law. In addition to saving water and the cost of trucking water to the quarry, there is an added environmental benefit from reducing the emissions from the trucks and saving oil.
Soil2O is particularly suited to dust control. An environmentally friendly potassium-based co-polymer, Soil2O particles hold up to four hundred times their weight in water and release 95% of that water back to the root zone of the plant or soil upon plant demand.Soil2O is specially formulated with a natural re-wetting ability that continues to function even after dry out. Using Soil2O doesn't eliminate watering, but it does mean you can water far less often.
