JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 6, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mariner's Choice International, Inc. (Pink Sheets:MCII), a North American manufacturer of an extensive line of ecologically-safe products for the marine and other industry segments, today issued a letter from the Company CEO Amie Hingston:
As we begin a new year, on behalf of the Company I wish to extend appreciation to our shareholders and associates for their continued unwavering support. This is also a time to reflect on the activities of the last twelve months and to highlight those that I expect will provide encouraging developments for the year ahead.
There were initiatives and undertakings in 2010 with those who had the potential to bring multi-faceted benefits. Regrettably, many did not come to fruition, or fell far short of expectations. However, in spite of those shortcomings, the Company stayed on course with its fundamentals, such as building a strong foundation utilizing established and newly developed network of distributors, agents and partners, including Hoffmann Sports, Aquatech, NRG Save, Green Ocean Distributors, Morgan Recreational Supply, CL Solutions, and Osprey Biotechnics. The efforts of these, and others like them, have brought forth opportunities in 2010 that generated new sales in the marine, auto care and other sectors. The recent orders from a national auto parts distributor indicate positive traction for the product line. Reorders from this distributor are anticipated within the first weeks of this year.
Of all the developments of last year, the one to consider as the "game changer" for Mariner's Choice going forward is MUNOX® and the alliance with CL Solutions and Osprey Biotechnics. MUNOX® is, by far, the best microbial product available for complete breakdown of petrochemicals. The product bears the US Environmental Protection Agency's "Design for the Environment – DfE" logo and is currently the only microbial product with such a designation. It is also on the U.S. National Contingency Program (NCP) product list. MUNOX® has recently completed third-party lab tests with expected results, and has been submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Energy Affairs in Trinidad and Tobago for listing, as contractors on the islands have expressed interest in the product. The listing should be official this month.
In addition, the Company and its affiliates are assiduously pursuing the opportunity to participate in the remediation and reclamation of contaminated lands, including sovereign properties throughout North, Central and South Americas. The cost-effective, non-invasive procedure offers long-term benefits with little to no environmental impact. Discussions are on-going for the appropriate application and use of MUNOX® in many countries.
The Company is in the preliminary stages of exploring a joint-venture project to facilitate production of its product line for foreign markets. Should this project progress it would be launched in the third or fourth quarter of the year.
Product research and development is a process that is never finished. Mariner's Choice expects to launch two new products within the coming year that will further define the Company as an innovator.
