WESTCHESTER, Ill., May 4, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Regent Surgical Health, a leading ASC management and development company that specializes in structuring JVs that align the long term interests of hospitals and surgeons, has been asked by Becker's Hospital Review to share insights on hospital/physician joint ventures at its annual meeting.

The Hospital and Health System Conference will be held May 19-20 in Chicago. On Friday, May 20 from 2:15pm – 2:50pm, Regent Chief Development Officer, Jeffrey Simmons and Regent Chief Operating Officer, Nap Gary will present: An Analysis of what Works and What Doesn't – Key Thoughts for Physician/Hospital Joint Ventures.     The two will outline the benefits of a JV for hospitals and physicians, review leading ownership models that align the interests of all parties, and discuss what benefits the venture should expect from a management partner.

Regent is currently partnered in 10 joint ventures with hospital and health system partners including Catholic Healthcare West, OhioHealth, Kettering Health Network, Kish Health Systems, Memorial Health System, Marietta Memorial Hospital, Palos Community Hospital, Swedish Covenant Hospital and more. 

Jeffrey Simmons is responsible for overseeing all Regent acquisition and development efforts. Simmons began his successful 25-plus year career in healthcare as vice president of marketing for American Medical International, where he headed business development for 18 hospitals. He has been the CEO of two specialty hospitals, an Associate CEO of a full service acute care hospital, the founder and CEO of the Immune Suppressed Institute, a physician management company servicing HIV patients, and founder and Executive Vice President of IntensiCare, a venture-financed Hospitalist company. Jeffrey holds a MA from University of Maryland and a BA from La Salle College.

Nap Gary oversees all operations and physician relations at Regent centers. Nap has worked in the healthcare industry for 23 years and served as senior vice president and assistant corporate counsel for HealthSouth Corporation. He spent 14 years at the Haskell Slaughter Young and Rediker, LLC law firm. Nap currently serves as vice-chair of the Board of Directors of the ASC Association. He earned a law degree from Washington University School of Law and a BA from Duke University.

Regent will also be present in the main exhibit hall of the conference.
