IHOP has become the latest restaurant to enter the grocery store freezer section.

The restaurant chain said Monday that it would start selling frozen versions of breakfast foods, initially only at Walmart.

The items, which the company said are inspired by what it serves at its restaurants, include Omelet Crispers, Griddle ‘n’ Sausage Wraps and French Toast Stuffed Pastries. The items will retail for between $2.85 and $3.79.

The IHOP foods will be produced and distributed by Golden County Foods. An IHOP spokeswoman said in an e-mail that the products also would eventually be sold at other retailers besides Walmart.

Restaurant chains including California Pizza Kitchen and White Castle have also introduced frozen versions of their foods.

IHOP, a unit of DineEquity, saw same-restaurant sales fall 2.7 percent in the first quarter ended March 31. DineEquity said in its earnings statement that it was working to better differentiate the breakfast chain.
