FAIRFAX, Va., June 15, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ThinkGeek is proud to announce that it has expanded the range of Minecraft products under its licensing deal with indie game developer Mojang. ThinkGeek is digging into this partnership by adding the new Minecraft Foam Pickaxe  and Minecraft Sticky Notecube to its current line of Minecraft products.

"With millions of players, Minecraft has changed the definition of what it takes to be a successful video game franchise," said Ty Liotta, head of ThinkGeek custom products development group. "It's a natural fit for us, especially because we have so many Minecraft players within ThinkGeek."

The Minecraft Foam Pickaxe is a full-size replica of the stone pickaxe from within the game. While fans won't be using the pickaxe to mine actual cobblestone, the durable EVA foam is a perfect companion to the Minecraft Sticky Note Cube.

These new products join the current ThinkGeek line of Minecraft licensed products: Minecraft Creeper T-Shirt, Minecraft Creeper Creeper, Minecraft Union Crafter's Guild T-Shirt, Minecraft Confused T-Shirt, World of Minecraft T-Shirt and Minecraft Sheet Magnets .

"We're really excited about the product ideas ThinkGeek has in the pipeline," said Markus 'Notch' Persson, the creator of Minecraft. "We know the fans out there are going to love them."

The Minecraft Foam Pickaxe is available now for $19.99 and the Minecraft Sticky Note Block for $9.99. The full range of ThinkGeek Minecraft products can be found at .
