Kevin Corke was named NBC News Correspondent in 2004. Based in Washington D.C., Corke has covered a wide range of stories for "NBC Nightly News," "Today," MSNBC and CNBC. Corke's reports also can be seen on MSNBC's "Hardball with Chris Matthews" and "Countdown with Keith Olbermann." Corke has also anchored MSNBC's 'Super Tuesday' political coverage. Corke was named Sunday White House Correspondent in November 2007.
Corke has covered the Bush administration since the 2004 Presidential campaign. From datelines from across the globe, Corke has reported on the President's handling of the war on terror, international commerce, response to Hurricane Katrina and border security. Additionally, Corke has reported from the U.S. Supreme Court, the Pentagon and Capitol Hill.
Corke figured prominently in NBC's coverage of the Massacre at Virginia Tech. Corke was the first NBC correspondent on-scene, providing the first detailed report of what was the deadliest shooting on a college campus in U.S. history.
Corke contributed to NBC's unprecedented coverage of the Torino Olympic Winter Games in 2006, reporting from several venues in the Italian Alps during the Games.
Corke was also a key member of NBC's coverage team during the Supreme Court confirmation hearings of Justices John Roberts and Samuel Alito. His online reports offered an insider's view of the proceedings.
Prior to joining NBC News, Corke worked at ESPN. While there, he anchored the network's flagship "Sports Center" program and served as a coordinating producer on live broadcasts. While at ESPN, Corke was part of the team that earned a national Emmy Award.
Previously, Corke was an anchor and reporter for KUSA-TV in Denver, where he anchored morning and weekend broadcasts. Corke covered the Atlanta Olympic Summer Games in 1996, reporting from Centennial Park in the hours after the Olympic Park bombing occurred. Corke also held editing positions at KMGH-TV in Denver and KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs.
During his career, Corke has earned numerous anchoring and reporting awards, among them national and regional Emmys.
Corke is a graduate of Harvard University with a Master's degree from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he received the Littauer Fellow citation for academic excellence, leadership and commitment to work in the public interest. He also holds Master's and Bachelor's degrees in journalism from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Corke is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and lives in Washington D.C.
