UCLA Gymnast Whips and Nae Naes in Her Floor Routine

UCLA gymnast, Sophina DeJesus delivered a special floor routine and incorporates modern dance moves like the whip and the nae nae.

The floor routine at a women’s gymnastics competition is often the most anticipated event because of its combination of creative acrobatics and artistry. The gymnasts are able to showcase their amazing athleticism as well as their latest dance moves.

On Saturday, February 6, while competing against the Utah Utes at her home arena, UCLA Bruins gymnast, Sophina DeJesus, took her floor routine to a whole ‘nother level. Complete with tumbling passes of flips and folds, DeJesus incorporated her finest dance moves. To the beat of a hip-hop mashup, she whips, nae naes, and even hits the quan.

She even did the original Harlem Shake. #throwback

The college senior was awarded a score of 9.925 which helped the Bruins win a victory against Utes and she went viral while doing so.

DeJesus’ performance has been viewed over 19 million times on Facebook and the video has been shared all over social media.
