A police body camera was rolling as five New Mexico officers rushed to lift a car off a woman after a tragic accident left her pinned in a parking lot last week.
The officers managed to hoist the 3,000 pound vehicle in an attempted rescue caught on video published by NBC station KOBF Thursday, but the woman could not be saved, authorities said.
The 46-year-old woman was not identified. Farmington police said she was run over in a parking lot shortly before 1:54 p.m. Oct. 1 while trying to start a car that lost power in a Kmart parking lot, police said.
The woman that was struck was trying to jump-start the vehicle when the car accelerated, KOBF reported.
No charges were announced in the accident.
"The Farmington Police Department would like to express their deepest sympathies to the victim’s family and friends," police said in a press release.
