North Carolina Sen. Kay Hagan raised nearly $4.9 million in the third quarter of fundraising as she battles to defend her seat against GOP challenger Thom Tillis.
Hagan's campaign says that the Democratic incumbent will report almost $2 million cash on hand. It has also already placed $4.8 million in air time for this month, a campaign spokesman said.
Hagan has consistently outraised Tillis, who has gotten fundraising boosts from Mitt Romney, Bob Dole, Mitch McConnell and others. She brought in $3.6 million last quarter, compared to $1.6 million for Tillis.
