As all of us geeks know, the Star Wars universe ain't just for kids. But a new game just revealed by LucasArts appears to have the grown-up set specifically in mind.

LucasArts unveiled a forthcoming game called "Star Wars 1313" late Thursday, promising in a press release that it would take players to "a never-before-seen dark and mature world."

The folks at LucasArts say the "mature themed" game will put players in the boots of a bounty hunter in the most dangerous place in the galaxy. That place would be Level 1313, a criminal underground hidden below the surface of the planet Coruscant.

There, players will use "an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy," according to the press release which goes on to explain:

Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world.

Interestingly, LucasArts describes "1313" as a "third person cinematic action adventure game" and says they brought in artists from the Lucasfilm side of things to help work on the game.

LucasArts has not said who the bounty hunter we'll play is -- perhaps Boba Fett? Perhaps not. It also hasn't revealed what systems the game will be played on or a launch window. But we're sure to learn more next week when "1313" is more fully unveiled during the annual video game extravaganza known as E3.
