New Jersey will discontinue odd-even gas rationing Tuesday at 6 a.m.

Gov. Chris Christie put the order into place on Nov. 3 to ease long lines at the pump following Superstorm Sandy. Some gas stations couldn't get fuel while others didn't have electricity to pump it

The order was in effect for 12 counties: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Morris, Monmouth, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren.

New York City and Long Island began gas rationing on Friday.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg says odd-even rationing seems to have eased the post-storm gasoline crunch in New York City, but he's not sure when he'll lift the restriction.

The hours-long lines at New York City gas stations seem to have eased since the rationing began there. But Bloomberg says he's going to leave the system in place "for a while."

The mayor calls it "not that much of an inconvenience."
