Ralph Brunt led the way at Saint Lucie Lanes with scratch games of 248, 256 and 247 for a 751 top series in the Handicap Trios last week. Eric L'Heureux, junior bowler, threw 12 strikes in a row for a 300 top game of the week finishing with a 685 series in the Saint Lucie Juniors league.

Ian Boykin rolled the top men's game 277 finishing with a 748 series in the same league.

Carolyn Weitkamp led the women's scores with a 610 series in the Scholarship league and a 227 top game in the Too Hot To Golf league.

Ryne Stone topped the boys' series with a 692 featuring a 259 game in the Saint Lucie Juniors.

Taylor Holt led the girls' scoring with a 543 series and 187 high game in the Scholarship league.

• Jenny Brown, 17, of Deland and Adam Martinez of San Antonio, Texas, won the United States Bowling Congress 2007 Junior Gold Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., on Friday.

Brown totaled 6,078, an average of 202.6 per game and finished ahead of Michelle Carcagente of Palm Harbor who had 5,928.

Martinez, a right-handed bowler who throws a back-up ball, rolled a 30-game total of 6,189 for an average of 206.3.

A total of 1,600 youth players from across the country vied for $100,000 in scholarships and a spot on the Junior Team USA 2008.

T.J. Baral of Stuart, who bowls at Stuart Lanes, made the semi-finals and finished 45th with a total of 4,714 for 24 games.

• Norm Duke of Clermont won his third Bowler of the Year award in the 2007 ESPYs Wednesday in Los Angeles. Duke also won in 1994 and 1995.
