One person was killed and at least seven others were injured Thursday afternoon when a building under construction at Rice University collapsed, according to KPRC Local 2 in Houston.
Houston firefighters told KPRC Local 2, an NBC affiliate, that two walls caved in at a dormitory that was under construction on Sunset Boulevard near Rice Boulevard. Four people were pulled out and taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance.
It was not immediately known what caused the wall to collapse but stormy weather passed through the area just before it happened.
