The 3-D revolution may have been in full swing since last summer, but 3-D tech company RealD is finally addressing a key demographic, kids 8 and under, with smaller glasses.

Beginning June 18, movie theaters in the U.S. and Canada showing "Toy Story 3" in 3-D will offer smaller-sized 3-D glasses for kids 8 years old or younger, distributed by 3-D projection technology company RealD.

For anyone who fears the onset of the summer cold season, and what sharing eyeglasses may mean for that, RealD makes a point of saying the glasses will be individually packaged in plastic to ensure sanitary condition.

Other providers of 3-D cinema projection technology, such as Dolby, have not specifically announced the distribution of glasses in junior sizes.
