LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Oct. 20, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Four schools in Iowa will share $70,000 to be used for new technology as part of Windstream's (Nasdaq:WIN) Iowa Education Connections program. The four schools are:
- Nodaway Valley Middle School - Fontanelle
- St. Francis Xavier School - Dyersville
- West Delaware Central School District - Manchester
- Charter Oak-Ute Elementary School - Charter Oak
The four were chosen among eight finalists based on a public online vote from Sept. 27-Oct. 15.
Nodaway Valley Middle School received the most votes and will receive a $25,000 donation from Windstream. The three remaining schools will receive $15,000 each.
Windstream received more than 700 nominations for Iowa Education Connections. Fifty-two schools and 501(c)3 organizations applied for the program. Eight finalists were chosen based on current technology resources and overall need.
