NEW YORK, June 21, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- VIDI Capital, a high-tech venture capital firm, with a traditional focus on internet commerce and retail businesses, announces plans to launch FreeAppDeals.com, a website and future accompanying App in the Appstore that will offer paid iPhone, iPad, and Android programs for a significant discount or even free for 24 hours or more. The site results from the joint efforts of several global App developers and Benjamin Gordon, CEO of VIDI Capital.
The website, which launches officially this week, as well as their new App, which anticipates being in the Appstore in late summer, will feature apps of various categories on one site. The firm says that the goal is to make it easier for App enthusiasts to find quality Apps to download for free or for a significant discount by highlighting those paid apps that people might not otherwise find or buy on their own. Similar to Groupon, there is a limited time for the discounted and free app of the day deals.
The site's ease of navigation, and the significant contribution VIDI Capital has made in the development of the company will allow the new site and its future accompanying App to become the premier resource for people to discover and download paid apps for free. "We recognize that there are already some players in this space like FreeAppaDay among others, but we feel our Groupon-like platform and promotions will provide a more user-friendly site that App enthusiasts and developers will ultimately prefer compared to the traditional Appvent calendar and other free app deal sites."
The company is hush about which Apps and developers will be participating in the initial launch, but they have already hinted at some of the big-names. Joe Morsman of Widebeam Digital, which held the top rated #1 paid app and grossing app in the United Kingdom for nearly 4 weeks, states, "The user interface and the backend marketing strategies of FreeAppDeals.com was compelling in our decision to promote one of our recent flagship apps, Bill & Ted's Excellent Soundboard, on their site. We look forward to working with FreeAppDeals.com, and we can see that they will be a major player in the industry."
While developers are excited about this new platform to promote their apps, the app users will now benefit by downloading multiple new paid apps on a regular basis without paying retail prices. The site will allow users to share the apps via their social networks, ensuring the better apps gain the exposure they deserve.
Recognized as the "Groupon of the App Industry," FreeAppDeals.com was founded by a venture capital firm to give developers an opportunity to profile their products on a mass scale. App enthusiasts are able to download paid apps for free by visiting the website, and in the future by downloading the FreeAppDeals.com App from the Appstore (Coming Summer 2011).
