Polk County, Fla., deputies on Wednesday arrested a man they say is the "clumsy beer thief" — caught on camera nearly four months ago running from a convenience store with two 18-packs of beer, tripping on his saggy pants on the way to the getaway car, spilling cans of Bud Light across the pavement, WTSP.com reported.

Juan Luis Gutierrez, 27, of Lake Wales was charged with petit theft and booked into the Polk County Jail, WTSP.com reported.

On Aug. 16, spotted a black Chevy Malibu that matched the one seen in the April 27 incident at the E-Z Food Store in Lake Wales, TBO.com reported. The deputy wrote down the tag number and passed the information on to the detectives investigating the robbery.

The detectives tracked down the owner of the car, who said she had lent it to Gutierrez and Angel Miguel Ortiz so they could make a beer run, WTSP.com reported. When they came back without any beer, Ortiz told her that Gutierrez had fallen down and lost it.

Ortiz, 22, of Lake Wales was arrested Aug. 18 and charged with one count of petit theft, WTSP.com reported. He posted bond.

Deputies said Gutierrez admitted to the crime.
