Kid President finally got the chance to sit in the real Oval Office (and play with the phone).

A new video posted Thursday shows President Obama giving 9-year-old Robby Novak a tour. Known among YouTube followers as “Kid President,” the boy hosts a light-hearted web series offering pep talks, dance tips and celebrity interviews via tin cans.

Obama suggested his much younger counterpart “should try to sit behind the desk” in order to “look a little more official.” Making himself at home, Novak immediately picked up the very important-looking black phone at the president’s desk and said, “Hello?” Obama joked, “Let’s make sure not to cause an international incident.”

The president showed the third-grader some mementos around the office, like a framed program from the “March On Washington” with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a portrait of Abraham Lincoln and a telegraph (Obama had to explain this one).

Obama asked if he had any advice for him “as an ordinary president as opposed to a Kid President?” Novak said “I have one, but it’s not really advice. It’s just how you’re doing–you’re doing awesome!”

Kid President did come with one prepared question on a note card. He asked Obama, “How can kids and grown-ups work together to change the world?” Obama’s answered, “The most important thing we can all do is to treat each other with kindness and respect.”

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney also made a cameo.

Kid President also took part in the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn of the White House on Monday in Washington, DC.

Editors’ note: In the second paragraph, the word “efficient” was corrected to “official.”
