It’s been six months since 9-year-old Robby Novak, a Tennessee native, made his debut on YouTube as “Kid President.” Oh, how far he’s come.

Since that first video, it’s felt like a question of “when” rather than “if” Kid President would cross paths with President Obama.

The moment arrived. Novak scored a sit down with President Obama in the Oval Office.

In the video posted to the Soul Pankcake YouTube channel, President Obama points out some of the most iconic artifacts that are kept in the Oval Office.

One of the first mementos President Obama highlights has special significance, as the video’s release coincides with the 45th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Placed prominently on shelf next to a portrait of Abraham Lincoln, there sits a program from the 1963 March on Washington, where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech.

President Obama used the opportunity to check up on Novak’s school work. He may be gaining notoriety as Kid President, but that’s no reason to put third grade on the back burner. Fortunately, Novak seems to have it all under control.

The tables turn when Novak has the chance to weigh in on the performance of the 44th president. Spoiler Alert: his assessment involves the word “awesome.”

But what would a visit to the White House be without a powwow with the fuzziest member of the First Family? That’s right, in addition to attending this year’s Easter Egg Roll, Novak had a run-in with Bo.
