The White House took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a sneak peek of how the president and his staff are prepping for the State of the Union address.

As President Obama’s State of the Union address nears, the White House took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a sneak peek of how the president and his administration are prepping for the address. The president’s chief speechwriter, Cody Keenan, took over the @WhiteHouse Instagram account on Wednesday and shared a series of photos of the president, his staff, drafts of his speech, and more, to give followers a glimpse into how the State of the Union address comes together.

In the first photo, which shows Obama with a speechwriter, the photo caption reads: “Hey, everybody. I’m Cody Keenan, the President’s Chief Speechwriter, and today I’m taking over the@WhiteHouse Instagram account to give you a look inside the State of the Union. I hope you’ll follow along.#InsideSOTU”

With this photo, Keenan clearly had fun with the iPhone’s emoji symbols, writing his caption in half regular text, half-emoji symbols: “Turning [emoji symbol for notes] into [emoji for final draft] with lots of help from [emoji for coffee]. #InsideSOTU”

The caption for the above photo reads: “Some of POTUS’ work on the first draft. #SpoilerAlert#InsideSOTU -Cody”

The caption for the above photo reads: “This is one of our speechwriters, Laura, calling someone who sent President Obama a letter to ask if the President could share their story. #InsideSOTU”

And the caption for the final photo above reads: “A new draft for POTUS to review tonight. Thanks for following along — check out wh.gov/sotu to watch it live next Tuesday. #InsideSOTU -Cody”
