Former Enron executive settles fraud charges

Former Enron Corp. Executive Vice President Mark Koenig has agreed to pay $1.49 million to settle fraud charges related to the bankrupt energy company, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said on Wednesday.

Koenig, who was director of investor relations at Houston-based Enron, has also agreed to plead guilty in a related criminal charge against him and to cooperate with the government's continuing investigation, the SEC said.

Koenig settled with the SEC without admitting or denying the charges.
