Margaret Cho is a three-time Grammy- and Emmy-nominated comedienne, but her acclaimed stand-up won’t be featured on her next album. Instead, "American Myth," which is scheduled for an April 29 release, will be Cho’s second music album, following her 2010 debut, "Cho Dependent."

"American Myth" will be Cho's first music album in six years.

“I am extremely proud to release American Myth," Cho said in a press release Wednesday. "This is an album of anthems and showcases my first efforts as a composer. I made it with my longtime collaborator Garrison Starr and an incredible and inspiring crew of artists. It is my glamorous and glittering tribute to family, comedy, anger, fame, gayness, grief, fat pride, love, and hate."

The press release also listed Cho’s upcoming stand-up tour dates, which run from Jan. 28 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Apr. 2 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
