Zeke Ortiz, 8, who like his parents and brother is deaf, is an avid and excellent basketball player who made the bold transition to join a more competitive regional basketball league, the Maryland Playmakers, where he is the only deaf player.
Zeke, who wants to be a pro-basketball player when he grows up, took the chance, aided by his father, who interprets for him, and by his coaches and teammates, who have learned to use hand signals to bring Zeke in on the plays. As Today's Jenna Wolfe reports, the result is that the team has gained a great player, as his teammates say.
