A university in New Mexico is investigating the women’s soccer team after reports that freshmen players were forced to strip naked, guzzle alcohol and were sprayed with urine during an ugly hazing incident Sunday.

The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque cancelled the team’s first game scheduled for Friday as it investigates the allegations, which were reported by one of the players’ families, NBC affiliate KOB reports. Two of the players were so intoxicated they needed treatment at a local hospital, the station reports, and at least two players have left the team and dropped out of school since the incident. "We are continuing to interview student-athletes and investigate what happened on Sunday night," UNM Vice President of Athletics Paul Krebs told the station Tuesday.
