Six people in a Boston were wounded in a multiple shooting late Friday, one of them suffering from life-threatening injuries, police said.

The victims – five male and one female– were taken to area hospitals with gunshot wounds after officers were called to the Jamaica Plain district at about 11.15 p.m. ET Friday, Boston Police Department said in a statement.

A police spokesman told the Boston Globe said the shooting happened at a party and appeared to be gang-related.

In its witness appeal, the Boston PD said investigators “will stringently guard and protect the identities of those who wish to help this investigation anonymously.”
