Adorable Maisie Gregory, 6, Hit By Soldier Saluting Queen on Wales Visit

A little girl’s adorable moment meeting the queen took an unexpected hit Thursday when she was knocked in the face by a saluting soldier.

LONDON - A six-year-old girl’s adorable moment meeting Britain's queen ended in tears Thursday when she was accidentally knocked in the face by a saluting soldier.

Maisie Gregory curtsied and handed a bouquet to Queen Elizabeth II during a visit to Cardiff, Wales.

The queen was meeting members of the Royal Welsh military regiment. Maisie’s father, Martin, is its Regimental Sergeant Major.

But as the monarch moved on, a lance corporal raised his hand to salute and accidentally knocked the girl.

The moment was caught on video by a reporter for the Western Mail newspaper.

Maisie’s mom, Joanne, told the newspaper the girl was tired but unharmed by the episode.

“Today is supposed to be all about my husband and the regiment, but it’s a big moment for our family,” she said.

Her father told the BBC that Maisie cried at first but now finds it funny.
