Murdoch has some advice for Christie

Associated Press

After New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) offered glowing praise of President Obama this week, many on the right were livid. Rush Limbaugh, demonstrating his own unique brand of class, told his followers, "He's fat and a fool. Don't listen to Governor Christie."

But Fox News' Rupert Murdoch is going quite a bit further, giving the New Jersey governor marching orders. The conservative media mogul said on Twitter that Christie must "re-declare" his support for Mitt Romney, or the governor will be take the "blame" for President Obama's re-election.

This morning, Murdoch's New York Post pushed a similar line, arguing that it's incumbent on Christie to "reassure his party -- and not just his party -- that he hasn't turned coat." The Post, with a striking lack of subtlety, insisted that the New Jersey governor "make clear his belief that the incumbent's vigorous response to the disaster would have been more than matched by Mitt Romney had he been president."

No word yet this morning as to whether Christie is inclined to follow Murdoch's instructions.
