SCOTUS open for biz

Despite the federal government in D.C. being shuttered Tuesday ahead of a big snow storm, the Supreme Court beats to a different drummer.

It is a separate branch of government, after all.

As is its custom, the Supreme Court is open for business as usual Tuesday and will be tomorrow.

The rest of the federal government in Washington, D.C. is closed today in anticipation of the snow storm expected to slam much of the Northeast.

The Supreme Court will issue the list of cases it won’t be taking on shortly. And oral argument will proceed as planned.

But there will be no decisions today. We'll get decisions tomorrow.
