House Speaker John Boehner says Republicans hope to unveil a bill to deal with the border crisis by "the end of this week."

President Barack Obama has requested a $3.7 billion package to address the flow of unaccompanied minors into the country, a cost that many in the GOP say is too high. Boehner told reporters Tuesday that he's waiting to hear from a working group of Republicans who will "scrub" the president's request. He also called a change to a 2008 law guaranteeing a legal hearing to minors form Central America an "important component" to any legislation.

"I expect that by the end of this week we'll have some answers," he said.
