The daughter of the chief steward aboard the missing Malaysia Airlines jet has posted that relatives were "still waiting" for him and thanked people for their support on Twitter.

Maira Elizabeth Nari posted pictures of herself with her father Andrew shortly after reports emerged that Flight MH370 vanished on its way from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

She later posted this picture of him in uniform.

Maira also thanked family, friends and members of the public for their support.

Her mom was also being strong, she said.

Early Monday, she wrote: "We are still waiting for you, dad."
