Want to try out a life as a gun-wielding faux super hero? Well then, this is what you've been waiting for: Your first chance to pretend you're someone pretending to be Batman.

"Gotham City Impostors" is a forthcoming multiplayer first-person shooter that drops you into Gotham City. But here you're not a super-powered super hero — you're a vigilante that likes to dress up like a super hero (or perhaps a super villain) and run around taking out your enemies with all manner of fire power.

The game doesn't launch until 2012, but developer Monolith Productions has just announced that they will be letting players try out life as a gun-wielding faux caped crusader during their beta test taking place in September.

This is a closed beta, so you'll have to go to the game's website right here and sign up for your chance to join the masked mayhem. And while the game will be available for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at launch, the beta will take place on the PC only. So you'll need one of those.
