Trump: Charlotte Protests Make U.S. 'Look Bad to the World'

Donald Trump said we have a “wounded country” that “looks bad to the world” watching protests in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“Many Americans are watching the unrest in Charlotte unfolding right before their eyes on the TV screens,” Trump said while campaigning in Pittsburgh. “Others are witnessing the chaos and the violence first hand. Our country looks bad to the world, especially when we are supposed to be the world’s leader. How can we lead when we can’t even control our own cities?”

The GOP nominee said protesters have a right to assemble but not engage in violence. Crime and violence “won’t be accepted in a Trump administration,” he said.
