Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates visited the ancient Incan capital of Cuzco in Peru and is expected to attend a reenactment of the historic Festival of the Sun.

Gates explored the lost Incan city of Machu Picchu Saturday and on Sunday he was to attend a reenactment of Inti Raymi, or the sun festival, a colorful celebration of the winter solstice that is the most important Incan holiday, local media reported.

U.S. actress Cameron Diaz is also in Cuzco, the launching point for visits to Machu Picchu, which is Peru’s top tourist destination.

Microsoft worked with several universities to develop a Windows version in Quechua, the language of the Incas, which was launched in Peru last year.
