LOS ANGELES, Oct. 25, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has been honored by the National Veterans Foundation (NVF) with its Corporate Leadership Award at the NVF's 25th anniversary celebration in Los Angeles.
The award recognizes members of the business community for their work to improve access to support services for veterans and families in need. The company was cited for its long-term support of the NVF, the military and military families.

Founded in 1985, the NVF serves veterans through a wide variety of national outreach programs, particularly its toll-free crisis management "lifeline". Operated by veterans certified in crisis management services, the lifeline has fielded more than 300,000 calls ranging from questions about Veterans Administration benefits to suicide intervention. The NVF also directs military families to services and reaches out to connect homeless veterans with support services.
