BOSTON, Nov. 8, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EnerNOC, Inc. (Nasdaq:ENOC), a leading provider of energy management applications for the smart grid, today announced that it has been named one of the 100 Top Places to Work in Massachusetts in the third annual employee-based survey project from The Boston Globe. The honorees were profiled in the November 7th issue of the Sunday Globe, and the profiles can now be seen at www.boston.com/jobs/topworkplaces . This is the second year running that EnerNOC has made the Globe's list.

The rankings in the Globe's 100 Top Places to Work are based on survey information collected from 82,000 employees at hundreds of private and publicly-held Massachusetts organizations. To qualify, a company must have more than 100 employees in Massachusetts. More than 1,100 qualified companies were invited to participate, and rankings were composite scores calculated purely on the basis of employee responses. For the second year in a row, EnerNOC was the only cleantech company named to the list.

"EnerNOC's employees are among the most talented, hard-working, and passionate people I've ever met, and there are more of them joining our team each year," said David Samuels, Executive Vice President at EnerNOC. "To attract that caliber of employee, we are constantly striving to create the most exciting, positive, and sustainable work environment possible. We're thrilled to be among Boston's Best Places to Work and aim to continue leading the way as a leader in cleantech both within Massachusetts and across our international network."

Produced by the same team that compiles the 23-year-old Globe 100 report of the best-performing public companies in Massachusetts, the Top Places to Work project recognizes the most progressive companies in the state based on employee opinions about company leadership, compensation and training, diversity/inclusion, career development, family-friendly flexibility, values and ethics.

EnerNOC is headquartered in downtown Boston and employs nearly 500 people worldwide. Over the last two years, EnerNOC has added roughly 100 new jobs. In addition to the criteria outlined by the award, EnerNOC prides itself on competitive employee benefits including innovative incentives that promote energy efficiency and sustainable practices.
