YORK, Pa., March 9, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DENTSPLY International Inc. (Nasdaq:XRAY) announced that it has appointed Deborah Rasin as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, effective March 7, 2011. Ms. Rasin succeeds Brian Addison, who will remain in a part-time role as Special Counsel. In her role, Ms. Rasin will oversee all legal affairs of the Company and assume corporate secretary duties. She will be a senior member of the executive team, responsible for management and oversight of all activities of the legal department.
Ms. Rasin previously served as Vice President - Legal, General Counsel and Secretary of Samsonite Corporation, and subsequently was a partner in a private law practice in London, England. Prior to joining Samsonite, Ms. Rasin spent nine years as a senior commercial and corporate attorney for General Motors Corporation, where she served as general counsel of several business units and subsidiaries. Deborah earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Harvard Law School and her undergraduate degree also from Harvard.
