A Washington man said he’s going to pay off bills and most importantly, buy back his prized 1969 Camaro after winning big in the Hit 5 Lottery game.

William Stidham said he plays Hit 5 routinely, using his favorite numbers -- the birth-dates of his wife and children. And last Wednesday, he discovered that he’d won $600,000.

He said his wife didn't believe him at first, but she was also thrilled about the prize money.

Stidham is a bus mechanic for the Thurston School District and said he doesn’t plan to quit his job. But he couldn’t stop talking about how excited he was to get his Camaro back.

Stidham said he spent the last 20 years rebuilding the car, but recently had to make the difficult decision to sell it to help pay for his mortgage and his daughter’s upcoming wedding.

However, he made a deal with the buyer that if for any reason he could buy it back, he would be able to. When William called the buyer on Wednesday and asked to bring his classic car back home, the buyer happily agreed.

Handy Corner, where Stidham purchased the ticket in Centralia, will receive a retail selling bonus for $6,000, which is 1 percent of William’s prize.
