Ah, Mother's Day. Breakfast in bed, flowers, a box of chocolates, perhaps, and Hooters.

Yes, you read that right: Hooters.

The chain that's popular for its hot pants and tank top clad waitresses is trying to lure families in for meals on Mother's Day by dangling a free entree of up to $10 for moms. The catch? You have to bring the kiddies too.

Specifically, the fine print says moms “must be accompanied by one or more of her offspring” and make a drink purchase in order to claim their free meal. (Hooters did not respond to a request for comment or clarify if the drink purchase includes soft drinks as well as alcoholic beverages.)

This is a switch from last year, when the Atlanta-based chain gave away free wings on Mother’s Day and said in its promotional material that the “offer is good for all ladies who dine in at participating Hooters restaurants.”

Hooters gave away about 15,000 orders of wings last year and expects to give away almost 20,000 entrees this year, according to USA Today.

"We know you don't think of Hooters as a typical place to take Mom,” the company’s chief marketing officer told USA Today.

Hooters has been on a campaign to try to win over female diners, adding salads to its menu and brightening up its man-cave decor. The new salads Hooters has been touting as part of its female-friendly makeover fall within the $10 limit on the value of the free entrée.
