Sam the Firehouse Cat

During our travels for Friday’s Dateline report, we came across the story of Sam the firehouse cat. Sam was the mascot for Station #6 in Long Beach, California in the early 1960s. The firefighters there taught Sam how to slide down the fire pole, leading him to national stardom.
