A woman appeared to have been choked at a bar in Reykjavik, Iceland, in an incident captured on video that surfaced online late Sunday night.
Despite confusion online over whether the video was a joke, actor Ezra Miller's name trended after it was posted on Twitter.
A representative for Miller did not respond to NBC News' requests for comment.
Reykjavik police would not confirm that Miller was involved and said that they were not called to the scene and that no one had been arrested or placed in custody in the incident.
Police said they were unaware of any injuries.
Variety reported the incident took place around 6 p.m. April 1 at Prikid Kaffihus, a trendy bar in central Reykjavik.
The seven-second video shows a man saying, "Oh, you wanna fight? That's what you wanna do?" to a woman, who appears to be jokingly preparing herself for a fight and is smiling.
The man then grabs the woman by the throat, and throws her to the ground. At this point, the person filming says, "Woah, bro. Bro," and stops shooting, with the footage ending abruptly.
