Vonage says it is target of Verizon patent suit

Internet phone service provider Vonage Holdings Corp. on Monday said a unit of Verizon Communications Inc. had served it with a patent infringement lawsuit involving voice-over-Internet phone technology.

Vonage said in a statement that it believed its services had been developed with proprietary technology, and it intended to "vigorously defend the lawsuit."
