Authorities in suburban Atlanta say a deputy and her two young daughters have been found shot to death at their home.
The shootings happened in Lawrenceville, just north of Atlanta. Police say officers found the bodies after responding to calls of shots fired. The dead girls were 11 and 4 years old.
Police say the deputy's 17-year-old son arrived at the house about a half hour after officers responded. He's the sole survivor. The deputy was not married.
A law enforcement official told the Atlanta Journal Constitution investigators are trying to find out who did the killing and why.
