MSNBC to air Democratic debate

MSNBC will telecast a live debate among the Democratic contenders for president on Jan. 29, 2004, at 7 p.m. (ET)

MSNBC will telecast live coverage of the South Carolina Democratic presidential debate Thursday, Jan. 29, 7-8:30 p.m. ET. NBC News’ Tom Brokaw moderates the debate, live from the Peace Center for the Performing Arts in Greenville, SC.

All of the remaining Democratic presidential candidates- Gen. Wesley Clark, former Vermont governor Howard Dean, Sen. John Edwards (SC), Sen. John Kerry (Mass.), Rep. Dennis Kucinich (Ohio), Sen. Joe Lieberman (Conn.), and Rev. Al Sharpton-will be participating in the event.

The debate will be telecast live on MSNBC and will also be simulcast on NBC’s broadcast stations across South Carolina:  WIS in Columbia; WCBD-TV in Charleston; and WYFF in Greenville. The debate is being organized in cooperation with the South Carolina Democratic Party and the South Carolina Young Democrats and will be produced by NBC News for MSNBC.
